As a a bit of fun we thought to characterise ourselves and our traits by aligning to sterotypical definitions of animal types and behaviours.

The following are the definitions.  We can see a little bit of all of them in ourselves but they do provide an interesting analagy - enjoy…. Which type are you ? ;-)

Each animal provides a unique lens through which to view business behaviors, helping to guide companies in aligning their strategies, cultures, and leadership styles.

Our Animal Types

The Owl

Owls are often associated with wisdom, knowledge, and strategic insight. In business, the owl represents:

Strategic Thinking

Owls are known for their keen vision, especially in the dark. Similarly, businesses that embody the owl are able to see opportunities and challenges that others might miss. They are good at planning and strategising

Analytical Mindset

Like an owl that carefully observes its surroundings, this business approach involves deep analysis before making decisions. Owls symbolise those who are data-driven and thorough in their evaluation of situations.

Calm and Composed

Owls are quiet and patient, often waiting for the right moment to act. Businesses with this characteristic are composed, deliberate, and prefer to take calculated risks rather than impulsive actions.

Wisdom and Experience

Owls represent companies or leaders who rely on knowledge and experience. They are seen as experts or thought leaders in their field, guiding others with their insights.

The Badger

Badgers are known for their resilience, determination, and ability to dig deep. Applied to business, they signify:

Persistence

Badgers are relentless when they pursue something, symbolising a business or leader who doesn’t give up easily. They push through challenges and continue to strive until they achieve their goals.

Resourcefulness

Badgers can dig and adapt to different environments. In business, this translates to adaptability, creative problem-solving, and the ability to find ways to succeed even in difficult conditions.

Independence

Badgers are solitary animals, indicating self-reliance and autonomy. Businesses with a badger-like approach value independence and are often self-sufficient, not heavily reliant on others to thrive.

Protectiveness

Badgers fiercely defend their territory. In business, this can mean protecting core values, intellectual property, or market position. They can be seen as loyal and fiercely protective of their employees, products, or brand identity.

The Wolf

Wolves are known for their pack mentality, leadership, and sharp instincts. In a business context, they represent:

Teamwork and Collaboration

Wolves hunt in packs and are highly social animals, indicating a business that values cooperation, teamwork, and effective communication. Success is often achieved through collective effort rather than individual actions.

Leadership and Hierarchy

Wolves have clear leaders (alphas) who guide the pack. In business, this means strong leadership, where a leader sets the vision and direction for the team, but also respects the contributions of others.

Instinct and Agility

Wolves rely on their instincts to survive and adapt quickly to their surroundings. Businesses with wolf-like traits are agile, able to pivot quickly, and adapt to changes in the market environment.

Loyalty and Trust

A wolf pack is tightly knit, with members relying on and trusting each other. Businesses that embody this characteristic are often seen as loyal to their clients, employees, and partners, fostering a culture of trust.
